iOS 4.3.2 Vulnerable to 10n1c's Exploit

We know that the Exploit created by 10n1c was very successful using it with iOS 4.3.1. Now the re known Userland jailbreak hacker i.e Comex has tweeted on twitter about the 10n1c's Exploit, that the new iOS 4.3.2 can be Untethered Jailbroken with that same Exploit, it's still vulnerable to it.

By the way, iOS 4.3.2 is (as far as I can see) still vulnerable to @i0n1c‘s untether vulnerability.

They haven't yet patched the Kernel Exploit in iOS 4.3.2, but still they are quite sure that it will be able to untethered Jailbreak it. iPhone Dev Team has adviced Jailbreak users to stay away from iOS 4.3.2 untill an safe jailbreak is release for it. And yesterday we also warned Unlock users also to stay away from Updating the iOS as it will cause them their iPhone to become Official Carrier Locked.

Right now an Tethered Jailbreak is available for iOS 4.3.2, But as soon as 10n1c get successful in achieving Untethered Jailbreak, it will be available for Public.

Another RC(release candidate) of Redsn0w has just been released by iPhine Dev Team. This new Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC 12 fixed boot animation issues and other Numerous Bugs are also fixed with it. You can now Untethered Jailbreak your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad with this on Both Mac And Windows.

Note: Untethered Jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1 for iPad is not yet released, it can't be Jailbroken with this version of Redsn0w. As soon as Untethered Jailbreak for iPad 2 is released we'll update you.

Those running redsn0w may have noticed we enabled too many Settings options in some versions of the jailbreak (for instance, what you want your side switch to do, even if you have no side switch because you’re not using an iPad). Release rc10 rc12 of redsn0w corrects that (you can just run it over your existing jailbreak…be sure to de-select Cydia to avoid package conflicts).

Along the way, we’ve also added the option to enable boot animations…these animations can be installed via Cydia, but be sure to select which animation to use via the Settings->Bootlogo setting after you’ve downloaded an animation (and again, you can just run rc10 rc12 over your existing jailbreak…be sure to de-select Cydia to avoid package conflicts).

(The boot animation we tested against was “Android Boot Logo”. It correctly installs all the dependencies needed to run the animation at each boot).

Step 1: First of all you have to, Update and restore your iPhone firmware to iOS 4.3.1 using iTunes. Here's how to:

Open "iTunes" and select your iPhone in sidebar, Windows users press “shift” and restore and browse the  Custom Firmware.

Step 1: Start iTunes and sync your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and back up all your data before proceeding with jailbreak process.

Step 2: Start PwnageTool 4.3 in “Expert mode” and select your device

Step 3: Browse for iOS 4.3.1 firmware for your device as shown in the screenshot below

Step 4: Now select “Build” to start creating custom 4.3.1 firmware file

Step 5: PwnageTool will now create the custom .ipsw file for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch which will be  Untethered jailbroken.

This will take almost 10 Minutes and your Device is Jailbroken After That Congratulations!.

iOS 4.3.1 Successfully Untethered Jailbroken by 1On1c [Video]

1On1c has released Video of iPod Touch 4G running iOS 4.3.1 successfully Untethered Jailbroken on his YouTube Channel, so this confirms that the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 has almost been achieved by Hacker. Early today Sn0wbreeze was released by IH8Sn0w to tethered Jailbreak iOS 4.3.1  But now it's a good news that the Untethered Jailbreak is not so far away, as it will soon be released.

Meanwhile everyone should have noticed that my prediction became true and Apple released iOS 4.3.1 in order to fix the PWN2OWN vulnerability in Safari.

It was very unlikely that Apple also fixed the kernel vulnerability I used for my untether exploit. Mainly because the kernelcache binary is about 8-10 MB in size and the likelihood that Apple finds the same vulnerability in that short amount of time was very low.

However you never know until you try it. So this morning when I woke up and saw that Sn0wbreeze 2.4 beta was released I thought it would be fun to create a new video.

Unfortunately Sn0wbreeze does not work with my iPad 1 and so I had to test with my iPod 4G.

In the video you can see how I switch off the iPod, then restart it, show the version, show that it is untethered and has the multitasking gestures, i show that you can buy ringtones and then I show cydia and the ninja jump game from last time.

Because several people misunderstood me in the past:

a. I repeatedly stated that I will not release a jailbreak tool - I will only give out the untether. I did not try yet, but if it is feasible the untether could be a cydia package.

b. While the vulnerability I use is in the iPad 2 kernel my untether will NOT SUPPORT the iPad 2, because there is no way to install it there (bootrom exploits fixed). - however Comex is working on that part.

c. I am not giving out any ETA again, because the Jailbreak community is simply nuts. Last time I gave an ETA and even before that had passed I got constantly insulted by people that were demanding an immediate release. Sorry guys the more you insult people with the knowledge to actually do what YOU WANT the less motivation there is to use our free time to give it to you.

d. The only reason why I did not finish the untether before the ETA was due to unexpected work overload in my real job. It had nothing todo with the untether being too hard or unreal.

e. I don't know why the dev team has not released a redsn0w that does tethered jailbreak for 4.3.1 - I would prefer that to be available, cause sn0wbreeze obviously does not work 100% yet.

- if Cydia doesn’t show up after Loader, you may need to reboot the device
- this version of greenpois0n doesn’t include a patched activation system. You’ll need to activate your device using iTunes

> Instructions

1. plug the device to your computer using the USB cable
2. quit iTunes if it shows up
3. start greenpois0n.app
4. follow instructions
5. the device will boot a 1st time with verbose text on screen. This operation will install the jailbreak on the device.
6. the device will reboot normally
7. start the Loader application (green icon on the SpringBoard), and follow instructions to install Cydia

According to Chronic Dev Team this Jailbreak will not require iOS 4.2b3 SHSH blobs. So anyone can achieve the Untethered Jailbreak without 4.2b3 hashes. Download Redsn0w0.9.7b5 - To Fix Bluetooth Issue on Untethered iOS 4.2.1

iPhone Dev Team has released another beta Testing Version of their Untethered Jailbreak of iOS 4.2.1 RedSn0w 0.9.7b5. This Beta fixes Bluetooth bugs found in earlier betas (and any sandbox-related issues should be resolved too). Sorry for all Windows users, RedSn0w untethered for Windows is still in the works and iPhone Dev Team will not release it in the Beta versions. Windows version of RedSn0w 0.9.7b5 is very slow that’s why iPhone Dev Team will not released until it gets speed up.

From iPhone Dev Team Official Blog:

The fifth beta is now available (testers ONLY please!).  Bluetooth is now working (and any sandbox-related issues should be resolved too).  Please do not pirate the 4.2b3 IPSW! Only those enrolled in the iPhone Developer program have legitimate access to that IPSW.

There is actually a Windows version of beta5, but it’s excruciatingly slow compared to the Mac version because it’s forced to use files on your hard drive instead of RAM while it’s processing the very large IPSW images.  It really is very very painfully slow, so we probably won’t be releasing it for testing purposes unless it can be sped up somehow.
