Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc vs Samsung Galaxy S II , price and Specifications in India

Samsung Galaxy S II

Here is one interesting contest unveiling, between Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc (also known as Anzu or X12) and Samsung Galaxy S II (also known as Galaxy S i9100). Both are powered by Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) and 1 GHz processors, Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon 1 GHz processor in XPERIA Arc and Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with Orion chipset in Samsung Galaxy S II (There could another variant of the phone, possibly powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 2 mobile processor). Clearly Samsung Galaxy S II has an advantage here. Samsung Galaxy S II has 4.3 inches Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen where as XPERIA Arc comes with 4.2 inches, LED-backlit LCD, capacitive touchscreen.
Camera in both phones is 8 MP, 3264x2448 pixels, autofocus with LED flash. More details at

But the similarity ends here. Samsung Galaxy S II has internal storage of 16GB/32GB storage, 1 GB RAM whereas XPERIA Arc has only 512 MB even though it has microSD storage up to 32 GB with 8 GB included.  Samsung Galaxy S II is the big winner here with the internal memory. Same is the case with Blue Tooth where Samsung Galaxy S II has v3.0 with A2DP while Galaxy S II has only v2.1 with A2DP. Another front where Samsung Galaxy S II steals the show is with 3G data transfer speed with an enormous HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps while Xperia Arc is contend with HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is expected to be priced around Rs. 29000/- and we also expect and hope that Samsung Galaxy S II will debut with the same price range. So its advantage all the way for Samsung Galaxy S II and we are just waiting to grab it once it is available in India.
